Internet Explorer (IE) is a discontinued series of graphical web browsers owned by Microsoft, first released in 1995 and mainly used in Windows machines. There are eleven total versions, with Internet Explorer 11 being IE's final release. It has been replaced by Microsoft Edge starting in 2015.
Internet Explorer is generally criticized for being unusually susceptible to computer bugs and viruses. IE10 has improved on this, although it is still more prone to computer illnesses than most other major web browsers.
